_1999
If you're looking for head-spinning style and exhilarating performance, unleash a '99 Chevy Camaro.
The Camaro coupes and convertibles - equipped with the 200-hp, 3800 V6 - were affordable and lots of fun.
The 305 hp, LS1 V8, six-speed Z28 just may have been the best bang-for-the-buck bargain in the 1999 sports car market. Then there was the legendary SS. Even among Camaros, this car stood alone.
Ever since it first hit the streets in '67, Camaro has been sending a stern message to lesser coupes: Stay home.
Camaro Coupe
Why settle for just any sports car when you could get something with attitude? That's what Camaro Coupe is all about. The styling is stunning, with more than a hint of Camaro's past. The 200 hp, 3800Series II V6 - connected to a 5-speed manual transmission - amplifies the fun.
Camaro Convertible
For less money than you might imagine, a Camaro Convertible can be your fantasy come true. Beyond stunning looks, this well designed drop-top includes a fully lined power top, a three-piece hard tonneau cover and a glass rear window with electric defogger.
Z28 T-Top Coupe
From the striped, spoilered, collectible '67 to the 1999 305 hp LS1 edition, Camaro Z28 is a legend on the street and on the track.
The 1999 Z28 boasts all the right hardware - 4-wheel disc brakes with ABS, new heavy-duty Torsen differential with a limited slip axle, special sport suspension, and, of course, that high-revving V8. A 4-speed automatic transmission is standard; a 6-speed manual is a no-cost option.
Camaro Z28 has always been known for teaching the competition a thing or two about performance. For 1999, there's another lesson in store.
Z28 Convertible
This Camaro might be everything you ever wanted in a convertible sports car: outrageously beautiful, shockingly powerful, and an absolute blast to drive.
Fact is, all the things that make Z28 a great performer - from the LS1 V8 engine to the tuned suspension - are here. Only difference: this Z-car has been specially designed and quality built as a convertible. 1999 Engines

* A total of 45 1999 Monterey Maroon cars were built for the GM fleet in order to allow the color to be available at start-of-production year 2000. They were a mix of V6 coupes, convertibles, and Z28s. None were SS and none had Y3F Sport Appearance Package. All were driven by GM employees and most were disposed of through the GM auction program. . . which means GM dealers would have bought them for resale to the public.
** A total of 5 Z28 Coupes were built in the 1999 model year in color 63U Sport Gold metallic. While Sport Gold was discontinued near the end of the model run in 1998, a contract had been signed between Chevrolet and Days Inn for a sweepstakes where the final prize was a Sport Gold Z28 Coupe. While the sweepstakes ran in the spring and summer of '98, the contract specified a 1999 Z28. Thus, Ste. Therese built 5 1999s for this sweepstakes. Two units were given away, the other three were driven by GM executives and then disposed of through the GM auction system.
